STEP ONE
Technical Descriptors
Each spot is logged with technical descriptors: date, time, duration, broadcast source, and position within the advertising block. Some descriptors are derived automatically — for example, weekends and weekdays, the week number, and the season of the year are derived from the date, while time slots and similar fields are derived from the time.
STEP TWO
Content Descriptors
Content descriptors capture the advertiser and manufacturer of the product or service, a 3-level brand typology, the advertised product or service, a description of the ad spot, a four-level typology of the advertised product or service, and a description of the advertising campaign by communication objective, type, object, kind, and origin. Where present, the slogan (tagline) used in the spot is also recorded.
STEP THREE
Unified Radio & TV Typology
The same typology is applied to both radio and television channels, which makes the datasets directly comparable — a significant advantage when analyzing campaigns across media.
STEP FOUR
Online Data Delivery & Excel Export
Data is provided online. Clients receive a username and password for a platform where the monitoring results are available, with some results presented as ready-made charts. The complete dataset is available both for viewing and for download, and downloaded results can be processed further in Microsoft Excel®.
